This per diem position offers a rewarding opportunity to support a specialty retail pharmacy dedicated to serving patients with complex medication regimens. The patient population primarily comprises Medicare/Medicaid and low-income individuals managing chronic, advanced disease states such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis. Compassion, patience, and effective communication are essential to ensure successful patient consultations and adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense and verify medications for patients taking multiple daily prescriptions
- Provide detailed medication counseling, ensuring patient understanding despite literacy challenges
- Manage complex medication therapies with a strong focus on disease state management
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize therapeutic outcomes
- Utilize Pioneer Rx software to process prescriptions and maintain records
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven retail and/or specialty pharmacy background with emphasis on chronic disease management
- Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 medications commonly used in retail settings
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to patiently consult with diverse patient populations
- Experience supporting Medicare/Medicaid patients and those with low health literacy preferred
- Commitment to prioritizing patient care and thorough consultation over dispensing volume

- Tuesday, 2/3: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Thursday, 2/5: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Tuesday, 2/10: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Thursday, 2/12: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday, 2/13: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Cleveland, OH area, with work primarily at a nearby specialty retail pharmacy
