A licensed Pharmacist is needed to help launch a new outpatient pharmacy within a growing healthcare organization focused on community health. This role offers an exciting chance to establish pharmacy operations from the ground up in Newark, NJ, serving a diverse and underserved patient population. Job Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire
Schedule:
- Monday through Saturday
- Day Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday-only candidates may also be considered
Responsibilities:
- Accurately verify and dispense prescriptions
- Provide medication counseling and patient education
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
- Manage prescription processing, insurance claims, and medication access issues
- Ensure full compliance with state, federal, and company regulations
- Support pharmacy workflow, quality initiatives, and patient care programs
- Foster a positive, patient-centered pharmacy experience
Qualifications:
- Active New Jersey Pharmacist License
- 1-2+ years of experience in community, retail, ambulatory care, or outpatient pharmacy
- Experience in community health, 340B programs, or underserved patient settings preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
- Familiarity with pharmacy systems such as PrimeRx or MicroMerchant considered a plus
- Strong clinical knowledge, communication abilities, and patient care focus
