Temporary Pharmacist Opportunity in Fulton, MO

A temporary pharmacist position is available in Fulton, Missouri, supporting a state high-security psychiatry hospital’s pharmacy. This role involves working within a separate pharmacy building outside the secure perimeter, with minimal to no direct patient contact. The assignment starts in early September and extends until a permanent pharmacist is hired.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Pharmacy closed on all Missouri state holidays
• No weekend or on-call coverage required

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Missouri pharmacist license required
• Ability to complete ~3 days of pre-assignment training
• Behavioral health experience is not necessary
• Willingness to work with new technology; training provided on Oracle/Cerner order entry system and Parata ATP2 Packager automation
• Local candidates preferred due to on-site nature

Responsibilities:

• Perform pharmacist checks for technician-packed medications using InspectRx flags, including repackaging, bag corrections, and canister refills
• Conduct barcode scanning for medication verification after tech fills
• Provide oversight and assistance to pharmacy technicians operating the packager and preparing orders
• Limited order verification duties; support available from a team including a Director of Pharmacy, clinical pharmacists, and specialists

Work Environment and Dress Code:

• Small, multidisciplinary pharmacy staff including clinical and informatics pharmacists, a pharmacist resident, and managers
• Business casual attire or scrubs of any color permitted
