Staff Pharmacist | Columbus, Ohio

This opportunity is ideal for licensed pharmacists with inpatient hospital experience seeking to contribute to high-quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare setting. Two staffing pharmacists are needed on a contract basis from May 26, 2026, through August 14, 2026, supporting medication management in a 222-bed acute care hospital with an average daily census of approximately 120 patients.

Location: Lancaster, OH

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Every 6th weekend coverage required

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify inpatient medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Provide oversight of sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounding processes
• Participate actively in code situations to assist clinical teams
• Support nursing and providers with medication management and dispensing
• Deliver patient education regarding medications as needed
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians who prepare and deliver medications to optimize workflow
• Use Cerner Electronic Health Records for order verification; training available
• Operate Pyxis Automated Dispensing Cabinets to ensure safe medication distribution

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Ohio Pharmacist license
• Proven inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
• Competence with Computerized Provider Entry Order (CPOE) systems
• Knowledge in pharmacotherapy, antibiotic stewardship, and renal dosing adjustments
• Experience managing priorities and time in a complex hospital environment
• Familiarity with sterile/non-sterile compounding and participation in code situations
