A short-term opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support the Retail Pharmacy operations in a small, critical access hospital setting in remote Alaska. This assignment offers a unique chance to work in an intimate community hospital pharmacy environment while exploring the beautiful surroundings and lifestyle of Cordova, Alaska during summer.
Location: Cordova, Alaska
Start Date: June 1
Duration: 7 weeks
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (with a lunch break from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications and counsel patients at the retail pharmacy window
- Ensure accurate prescription processing in compliance with hospital policies and state regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize pharmaceutical care
- Maintain inventory and support daily pharmacy operations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Alaska pharmacist license required
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree mandatory
- Minimum of 2 years professional experience as a pharmacist
Additional Information:
- Housing provided and paid for by the medical center, conveniently located near the hospital
- No pet accommodations are allowed in hospital housing
- Rental car expenses are not covered due to proximity of housing to the facility
