Staff Pharmacist | Cordova, Alaska

A unique opportunity is available to fill a Staff Pharmacist role in a small, critical access hospital pharmacy located in remote Alaska. This 7-week contract assignment begins June 1 and offers a chance to work in a tight-knit community while gaining valuable experience in a retail hospital pharmacy setting.

Location: Cordova, Alaska
Shift: Days, Monday through Friday
Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM with a lunch break from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Assignment Duration: 7 weeks

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently at the retail pharmacy window
• Counsel patients and provide medication education in a clear, compassionate manner
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal pharmaceutical care
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety standards within the pharmacy
• Manage inventory and assist with daily pharmacy operations in a critical access hospital environment

Qualifications:

• Active Alaska pharmacist license is mandatory
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree required
• Minimum of two years of pharmacy experience, preferably in a retail or hospital setting
• Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a smaller, remote community setting
