Per Diem Pharmacist Opportunity – Specialty Pharmacy Focus

This per diem position offers the chance to work within a specialty retail pharmacy serving nursing homes through specialized packaging and services. The role begins April 1 and requires a commitment from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. This position is ideal for pharmacists licensed in Illinois who are comfortable verifying prescriptions and providing patient counseling in a pharmacy setting utilizing Pioneer RX software.

Responsibilities:

• Verify prescriptions accurately and ensure adherence to regulations
• Counsel patients and nursing home staff regarding medication use and safety
• Operate and navigate the Pioneer RX pharmacy program system efficiently
• Support a specialty pharmacy environment focused on customized packaging for long-term care facilities

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Illinois State Pharmacist License
• Experience with prescription verification and patient counseling
• Familiarity with pharmacy software such as Pioneer RX preferred
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and ability to support nursing home pharmacy needs
