A healthcare facility in the Denver, CO area seeks a licensed Pharmacist for a 13-week contract with the potential for contract-to-hire based on performance. This role offers an engaging opportunity to support patient care by managing and dispensing medications while collaborating closely with the healthcare team.

Location: Denver, CO
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks), contract-to-hire potential
Schedule:

  • Flexible day/evening shifts
  • Start times from 7:00 AM up to 11:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends

Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with regulations
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of over-usage
  • Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files
  • Educate patients on proper medication use, side effects, and drug interactions
  • Provide patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
  • Instruct patients on handling medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
  • Compound and prepare sterile medications following safety protocols
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
  • Maintain adequate pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory
  • Identify drug-related issues and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare practitioners
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, interns, and other healthcare professionals

Qualifications:

  • Valid Colorado Pharmacist license (required)
  • Experience in retail pharmacy accepted; willingness to train is available
  • Strong knowledge of long-term care pharmacy practices and prescriptions is a plus

This position requires flexibility and a dedication to patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare environment. Immediate availability is preferred to fill this role quickly.
