A retail pharmacy associated with a hospital is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist for per diem coverage from August 24th through August 28th in Haxtun, Colorado. This role requires managing the pharmacy independently during a busy week, providing an excellent opportunity to take ownership and lead daily pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Counsel patients on medication use and safety
  • Fill and dispense prescriptions accurately
  • Conduct final verifications to ensure quality and compliance
  • Manage the pharmacy as the sole on-site pharmacist, overseeing workflow and operations

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active, clear Colorado Pharmacist license
  • Recent experience as a pharmacist or new graduate comfortable with independent responsibility
  • Confidence in managing a pharmacy independently

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm with a 1-hour lunch break

Pharmacy Environment:

  • Volume of approximately 500 prescriptions per week
  • Support from two full-time pharmacy technicians and occasional PRN pharmacist coverage
  • Opportunity to lead as the only pharmacist on site during the assignment

Housing:

  • Onsite hospital housing is available, subject to availability
  • Alternative hotel arrangements provided if onsite housing is unavailable
