A healthcare facility in the Denver, CO area is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a 13-week contract with the potential for contract-to-hire based on performance. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a dynamic pharmacy environment supporting patient care and medication management.

Location: Denver, CO
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks, contract to hire potential)
Shift: Flexible day/evening shifts (early start 7am to late end 11pm), including rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal requirements
  • Monitor patient medication use, ensuring appropriate compliance and identifying over-usage patterns
  • Maintain confidential and accurate patient medication records and pharmacy documentation
  • Provide expert counseling to patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related questions
  • Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
  • Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions adhering to proper protocols
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks ensuring effective workflow
  • Maintain adequate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues and optimize patient care

Qualifications:

  • Active Colorado pharmacist license (in-hand)
  • Retail pharmacy experience preferred but candidates open to training will be considered
