Pharmacist in Denver, CO

A pharmacy position is available for a staff pharmacist in the Denver, CO area for a 13-week contract with potential for contract-to-hire based on performance. This role requires flexibility to work day and evening shifts, including rotating weekends, with hours starting as early as 7 AM and ending as late as 11 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of over-usage
• Ensure all medicines supplied comply with legal regulations
• Verify prescribed medications are appropriate for patients
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files
• Provide expert advice to patients on medication usage, possible reactions, and answer related questions
• Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurements, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations
• Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Colorado pharmacist license required
• Retail pharmacists with a willingness to learn and grow will be considered and trained
• Experience with prescription verification (PV1 and PV2) preferred
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
