Staff Pharmacist - Des Plaines, Illinois

This contract opportunity offers an essential role supporting pharmacy operations within a warehouse environment in Des Plaines, IL. Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• 13-week contract duration

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee receipt, storage, and distribution of medications, including refrigerated and specialty products
• Manage medication inventory, place orders, and minimize waste or expired stock
• Ensure proper storage conditions and compliance with USP and regulatory standards
• Verify medication orders prior to preparation or shipment
• Supervise pharmacy technicians handling inventory, picking, packing, and shipping
• Coordinate with sterile compounding teams to ensure availability of medications and supplies
• Review controlled substance inventories and maintain accurate documentation
• Conduct cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and quality assurance audits
• Collaborate with purchasing, nursing, and operations to facilitate timely medication delivery
• Utilize pharmacy software and inventory systems to monitor supplies

Qualifications:

• Active and clear Illinois pharmacist license
• Basic knowledge of IV medications is preferred
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills
• Familiarity with USP standards and medication storage protocols
• Ability to work independently within a warehouse pharmacy setting
