This role supports the delivery of professional pharmaceutical services within a retail pharmacy setting. The pharmacist ensures the proper dispensing of prescribed medications and advises healthcare providers on drug therapy to optimize therapeutic outcomes according to established standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately, maintaining compliance with state and federal laws.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to provide drug information, therapeutic guidance, and medication management.
- Conduct medication use reviews and patient counseling to promote adherence and safe drug use.
- Oversee pharmacy inventory management, ensuring secure storage and proper stock levels.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Develop and implement drug use guidelines and educational materials.
- Mentor healthcare trainees and provide consultative services to long-term care facilities.
- Participate in committee meetings and other facility activities as requested.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution; PharmD preferred.
- Licensed to practice pharmacy through passage of the licensure exam and holding a current state license.
- A minimum of three years retail pharmacy experience is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to apply sound clinical judgment and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Location and Schedule:
- Position located in Deshler, Nebraska.
- Full-time, day shift.
- This is a contract opportunity.
