Two Staffing Pharmacist openings are available for a contract assignment at a 222-bed hospital with an average daily census of 120 patients. This role requires a licensed pharmacist in Ohio with a strong background in inpatient hospital pharmacy services.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Every 6th weekend on call coverage

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify inpatient medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety
  • Oversee sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounding processes
  • Participate in codes and provide pharmacotherapy support during emergencies
  • Collaborate with nursing and provider staff to optimize medication management
  • Dispense medications and offer patient education as needed
  • Support the pharmacy team, including medication preparation, delivery, and daily operations

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Ohio Pharmacist License
  • Experience with inpatient hospital pharmacy, including Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) verification, preferably using Cerner EHR (training provided)
  • Knowledge of antibiotic and renal dosing adjustments
  • Familiarity with sterile/non-sterile/hazardous compounding and monitoring
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work with automated systems such as Pyxis (Automated Dispensing Cabinets)
