A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking a Per Diem pharmacist with a compassionate and patient-centered approach to support complex medication therapies for patients managing multiple chronic diseases. This role emphasizes high-level consultation skills, strong knowledge of commonly dispensed medications, and the ability to engage with vulnerable populations.

Location: Dublin, OH
Schedule:

  • Tuesday 2/3, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Thursday 2/5, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday 2/10, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Thursday 2/12, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday 2/13, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert medication consultation to patients managing complex drug regimens, often ranging from 8-15 medications daily.
  • Demonstrate patience and effective communication when educating patients with low literacy and diverse backgrounds, including Medicare/Medicaid and low-income populations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize chronic disease management in conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.
  • Utilize Pioneer Rx software for efficient prescription processing and patient record management.
  • Uphold a patient care approach focused on quality, not volume, ensuring thorough consultation and individualized therapy plans.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong retail and/or specialty pharmacy experience highly preferred, with demonstrated expertise in managing chronic, complex disease states.
  • Excellent consultation skills with a compassionate attitude toward underserved populations.
  • In-depth knowledge of the top 200-400 medications commonly found in retail pharmacy settings.
  • Ability to work independently and support a specialty pharmacy model centered on patient-focused care.
