Staff Pharmacist | Dubuque, Iowa

A full-time retail pharmacist is needed for a 13-week contract starting July 13, offering an opportunity to float between multiple pharmacy sites in Iowa. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with at least one year of retail experience, capable of managing high prescription volumes and providing excellent patient care across various communities.

Locations include:

• Dubuque (busiest site, dispensing approximately 2,800–3,000 prescriptions per day)
• Preston (50 minutes from Dubuque)
• Bellevue (30 minutes from Dubuque)
• Independence (1 hour 15 minutes from Dubuque)
• Monticello (40 minutes from Dubuque)

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, first shift
• Occasional Saturdays (half days)
• Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm or 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and ensure safe delivery to patients
• Counsel and advise patients on medication use and regimens
• Address patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints in line with policies
• Maintain stock levels, controlled drug records, and inventories
• Resolve patient problems and clarify third-party insurance coverage issues
• Use McKesson Enterprise software for daily operations

Qualifications:

• Active, clear pharmacist license in Iowa
• Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience
• Ability to work efficiently in high-volume pharmacy environments
• Strong communication and counseling skills
• Flexibility to travel between multiple pharmacy locations within the region
