Staff Pharmacist in Dubuque, IA

A full-time staff pharmacist is needed to provide expert dispensing and patient care services across multiple retail pharmacy locations in Iowa. This role involves floating between sites, with Dubuque serving as the primary location and several nearby rural sites included. The successful candidate will operate under the guidance of a manager to ensure accurate medication delivery and outstanding patient counseling.

Locations:

• Dubuque (primary, busiest site with 2800-3000 prescriptions per week)
• Preston (50 minutes from Dubuque)
• Bellevue (30 minutes from Dubuque)
• Independence (1 hour and 15 minutes from Dubuque)
• Monticello (40 minutes from Dubuque)

Schedule:

• 1st shift, Monday through Friday
• Occasional half-day Saturdays as needed
• Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring patient safety at all times
• Counsel patients on medication regimens and answer any related questions
• Manage patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints per organizational protocols
• Maintain accurate stock levels and controlled drug inventories
• Address patient problems and clarify third-party insurance coverage issues
• Utilize McKesson Enterprise software system to support pharmacy functions

Qualifications:

• Active pharmacist license in Iowa
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a retail pharmacy environment
• Comfortable working in a high-volume pharmacy setting, maintaining accuracy and efficiency under pressure
