Staff Pharmacist | East Dubuque, Illinois

A retail pharmacist position is available for an 8-week assignment in the Galena, Illinois area, with shifts Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. This contract role offers the possibility of temp to perm status for the right candidate while the location searches for a permanent pharmacist who may relocate. The pharmacy utilizes Pioneer software, and you will work alongside a highly experienced pharmacy technician to provide excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and safely under the direct supervision of the pharmacy manager.
• Counsel patients on medication regimens, providing clear guidance and support.
• Address patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and in line with organizational standards.
• Maintain inventory control, including stock management and controlled substances documentation.
• Assist in clarifying third-party insurance coverage and resolving related issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active and clear Illinois pharmacist license is required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in retail pharmacy practice.
• Experience with Pioneer pharmacy software is highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm (1st shift).
