Staff Pharmacist - Elizabeth, IL

An 8-week contract opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support a retail pharmacy in Galena, Illinois. This role focuses on safe and accurate dispensing of medications, patient counseling, and inventory management during weekday first shifts. The position offers the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate, but immediate coverage through travel support is also welcomed.

Location: Galena, Illinois
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• 1st Shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescription medications accurately under manager supervision
• Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and care regimens
• Address patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints consistent with policies
• Maintain controlled substance records and manage stock inventories
• Resolve insurance and third-party coverage issues efficiently

Qualifications:

• Active, clear pharmacist license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of retail pharmacy experience
• Familiarity with Pioneer pharmacy software preferred but not mandatory
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with pharmacy technicians and management
