A growing healthcare organization is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join the launch of a new outpatient pharmacy in Newark, NJ. This full-time, contract-to-hire role offers the unique opportunity to establish pharmacy operations from the ground up while serving a diverse and underserved patient population in a community-focused setting.

Location: Newark, NJ
Schedule:

  • Monday through Saturday
  • Day shift hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Saturday-only candidates will also be considered

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately verify and dispense prescriptions
  • Provide medication counseling and patient education
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
  • Manage prescription processing, insurance issues, and access to medications
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and company regulations
  • Support pharmacy workflow, quality initiatives, and patient care programs
  • Foster a positive, patient-centered experience

Qualifications:

  • Active New Jersey Pharmacist License
  • 1-2+ years of experience in community, retail, ambulatory care, or outpatient pharmacy settings
  • Experience in community health, 340B programs, or underserved patient environments is highly preferred
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with PrimeRx, MicroMerchant, or similar pharmacy systems is a plus
  • Strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and focus on patient care
