Per Diem Retail Staff Pharmacist - Elizabeth, NJ

This role offers a valuable opportunity to support community health as a pharmacist in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting, serving diverse patient populations, including many Spanish speakers. The position requires a commitment to providing consistent, high-quality care to patients through a dynamic retail pharmacy environment utilizing MicroMerchant and PrimeRx systems.

Location:

• Newark, NJ

Schedule:

• One weekday per week (same weekday each week)
• Every other Saturday
• Pharmacy hours: 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Saturday

Responsibilities:

• Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and adherence.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers within the FQHC to optimize patient outcomes.
• Manage inventory and ensure proper documentation, including 340B program compliance.
• Provide culturally sensitive support to a predominantly Spanish-speaking patient base.

Qualifications:

• Active New Jersey Pharmacist license required.
• Previous community or retail pharmacy experience.
• Experience in an FQHC or 340B program preferred but not mandatory.
• Bilingual skills in Spanish highly preferred to enhance patient communication.
• Familiarity with MicroMerchant and PrimeRx systems is a plus but not required.
