Per Diem Staff Pharmacist in Elk Grove, CA

Per diem pharmacists are needed to provide flexible coverage across multiple locations in California, primarily supporting retail pharmacy operations. This role offers opportunities to work 1-2 shifts per week in various markets including Sacramento, Bay Area/North Bay, and Northern California (Redding, Chico). Candidates should be able and willing to commute within these regions to meet coverage needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily pharmacy operations including opening and closing procedures
• Supervise and collaborate with pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth workflow
• Accurately dispense medications and provide patient counseling
• Administer immunizations as required, maintaining certification standards
• Utilize McKesson’s Enterprise (ERx) software for prescription processing and documentation
• Adapt to variable schedules with per diem staffing assignments

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid pharmacist license in California
• Minimum one year of retail pharmacy experience
• Proven ability to manage pharmacy operations and technician staff
• Immunization certification is mandatory
• Familiarity with McKesson’s Enterprise (ERx) software preferred
• Reliable transportation and willingness to commute; mileage reimbursement available for travel over 30 miles one way

• Positions available in Sacramento area (3-4 pharmacists needed)
• Bay Area/North Bay (2 pharmacists needed)
• Northern California — Redding, Chico areas (2 pharmacists needed)
