Staff Pharmacist | Epworth, Iowa

A full-time retail pharmacist opportunity is available to support multiple pharmacy locations across Iowa. This 13-week contract assignment starts July 13 and offers the chance to float between busy and rural sites while providing comprehensive medication management and patient care.

Locations you’ll cover include:

• Dubuque (high volume, ~2800 – 3000 prescriptions/day)
• Preston (50 minutes from Dubuque)
• Bellevue (30 minutes from Dubuque)
• Independence (1 hour 15 minutes from Dubuque)
• Monticello (40 minutes from Dubuque)

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, daytime shifts, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm or 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
• Occasional half-day Saturdays as needed

Key responsibilities include:

• Dispensing medications accurately under the supervision of the pharmacy manager
• Providing thorough patient counseling and medication education
• Addressing patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints in line with policy
• Managing stock, controlled drug records, and inventory maintenance
• Resolving third-party coverage issues and patient problems promptly

Desired Qualifications:

• Active, clear Iowa pharmacist license
• Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience
• Comfortable thriving in a high-volume, fast-paced pharmacy environment
• Familiarity with Mckesson Enterprise software is advantageous
