A healthcare facility in Ohio seeks an experienced pharmacist to provide overnight pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting. The role requires thorough medication management, patient-centered service, and collaboration with the healthcare team while working night shifts on a 7-on/7-off schedule.

Location: Fairfield, OH
Schedule: Night shifts, 8:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Thursday through Wednesday, alternating 7 nights on, 7 nights off
Contract Duration: 13+ weeks
Start Date: June 1

Responsibilities

  • Accurately review, interpret, and dispense medication orders and prescriptions
  • Monitor and manage patient medication therapies to ensure effectiveness and safety
  • Provide drug information to patients, families, and healthcare staff
  • Participate in emergency drug therapy, including responding to calls and preparation
  • Oversee pharmacy technician activities to align with patient and organizational needs
  • Maintain compliance with pharmacy policies, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines
  • Uphold organizational values such as empathy, integrity, stewardship, agility, and teamwork
  • Foster safety, quality improvement, and customer service excellence through communication and collaboration

Qualifications

  • Valid Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing
  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree from an accredited pharmacy school
  • Minimum one year hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with staff, patients, and families
  • Ability to perform duties requiring medium physical effort (lifting 20-50 pounds occasionally)
  • Commitment to continuous learning and adherence to ethical and legal standards
