Experienced pharmacist needed for a night shift role at a regional medical center with approximately 300 beds. This contract position offers a valuable opportunity for professionals with strong inpatient pharmacy experience to work independently as the sole pharmacist on duty.

Located near Fayetteville, North Carolina, this facility is situated between Charlotte and Wilmington, providing a unique setting for pharmacists seeking challenging and rewarding work in a community hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform order verification ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain smooth operations
  • Consult with physicians and nursing staff on medication therapy
  • Utilize pharmacokinetics principles to optimize patient care
  • Utilize IT systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for documentation and medication management

Schedule:

  • Night shift from 9:00 pm to 7:30 am
  • A cycle of 7 days on followed by 7 days off (Thursday through Wednesday)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active North Carolina pharmacist license required
  • Solid inpatient pharmacy background with the ability to work independently as the sole pharmacist on site
  • Experience with hospital pharmacy IT systems including EPIC and Pyxis preferred
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams

  • Immediate start date
  • Contract duration: 13 weeks plus potential for extension and opportunity to transition to permanent employment
