Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Fresno, CA

This opportunity seeks experienced and motivated pharmacists for immediate placement in a 12-week contract position with potential for contract-to-hire. The role is based in a long-term care setting, providing vital pharmaceutical services to patients in need.

Work Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• No weekends

Responsibilities include:

• Dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
• Monitoring patient medication compliance and detecting over-usage
• Ensuring all medications dispensed comply with legal standards and are appropriate for patient use
• Maintaining confidential patient records and managing pharmacy files with accuracy
• Counseling patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answering questions
• Offering consultation on both prescription and over-the-counter drugs regarding storage, dosage, interactions, and side effects
• Delivering additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
• Educating patients on the use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
• Compounding medications and preparing sterile solutions following established protocols
• Supervising pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient operations
• Managing inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
• Collaborating with healthcare providers to identify and resolve drug-related patient issues

Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist in California
• Experience in retail pharmacy is acceptable; training will be provided for candidates new to long-term care
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Commitment to patient care and adherence to regulatory standards
