Retail Staff Pharmacist | Glendale, Arizona

A specialty pharmacy focused on rare and orphan drugs is seeking two experienced Specialty Pharmacists for a contract opportunity. This role is ideal for pharmacists with hands-on experience in designated specialty pharmacy settings, working closely with patients who require high-cost, rare disease medications. The position requires strong clinical expertise and excellent communication skills to facilitate patient care and assist providers in navigating drug approvals and financial assistance programs.

Location:

• Glendale, AZ

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, day shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and manage specialty medications used to treat rare diseases
• Collaborate extensively with healthcare providers and patients to ensure proper medication use and support
• Guide patients through complex approval processes, including insurance authorizations and financial aid programs such as grants and rebates
• Provide clinical counseling tailored to the unique needs of specialty medication patients

Desired Experience:

• Proven experience working within a specialty pharmacy environment (retail pharmacists without designated specialty pharmacy experience will not be considered)
• Knowledge of the processes involved in managing rare/orphan drug therapies and navigating insurance and financial assistance pathways
• Strong clinical skills coupled with effective communication and patient management abilities
