A healthcare facility is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented pharmacist with Epic experience to support its pharmacy team during an EMR transition. This contract opportunity starts ASAP and is projected through mid-August, with exact assignment length flexible to your start date. It offers a dynamic work schedule with rotating day and evening shifts plus weekend coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately according to physician requests.
- Maintain medication stock and ensure proper storage in patient care areas.
- Ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies in accordance with established protocols.
- Interpret medication orders and maintain computerized patient medication profiles.
- Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition preparations.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws regulating pharmacy operations.
- Monitor drug therapy for interactions, allergies, and dosage appropriateness.
- Perform pharmacokinetic drug dosing and review culture and sensitivity data for antibiotic use.
- Provide clinical consultation and education to medical staff, patients, and families.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, documentation, and training programs.
- Serve as a member of the Code Response Team.
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing.
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Epic EMR experience is required; Meditech knowledge is a plus.
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions), effective October 1 through April 1.
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week, rotating shifts starting at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday.
- Rotating weekend shifts from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
