Staff Pharmacist - Glenwood Springs, CO

A pharmacy professional with Epic system expertise is needed for a contract assignment in Glenwood Springs, CO, starting ASAP with a duration through mid-August. This role involves working a rotating shift schedule totaling 40 hours per week. Shift start times are either 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend shifts from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately per physician directives.
• Maintain medication stock in patient care areas.
• Utilize computerized systems to transcribe and manage patient medication profiles.
• Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including specialized preparations like IV admixtures and chemotherapy.
• Monitor drug therapies for interactions, allergies, and appropriate dosing.
• Perform pharmacokinetic drug dosing following hospital protocols.
• Review culture and sensitivity data to recommend appropriate antibiotic adjustments.
• Provide clinical consultation and patient or family drug information.
• Participate in quality improvement, medication review, and educational training programs.
• Serve as a member of the Code Response Team.

Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Pharmacist license in good standing.
• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science degree.
• Proficiency in Epic required; experience with Meditech preferred.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) by the American Heart Association.
• Mandatory flu vaccination (no exemptions) required during flu season (October 1 – April 1).
