This travel pharmacist role offers a dynamic opportunity to support pharmacy operations in a facility transitioning from Meditech to Epic EMR systems. The assignment begins in early May and extends approximately 20 weeks, with a rotating shift schedule including early mornings and rotating weekends, totaling 40 hours per week.

Location: Glenwood Springs, CO
Shift: Rotating shifts starting at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend shifts from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately in accordance with physician requests.
  • Maintain medication stock in patient care areas, ensuring safety and appropriate use.
  • Interpret medication orders and maintain computerized medication profiles.
  • Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including controlled substances management.
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for interactions, allergies, and appropriate dosing.
  • Perform pharmacokinetic drug dosing following hospital protocols.
  • Review culture and sensitivity data to recommend appropriate antibiotic therapy.
  • Provide clinical consultation and education to healthcare staff and patients.
  • Participate in quality improvement, medication review activities, and code response team efforts.
  • Document clinical activities and help conduct training programs as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing.
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association).
  • Required flu vaccine during flu season (Oct 1–April 1).
  • Must have experience with Epic; Meditech experience is a strong plus.
