This opportunity is a travel pharmacist role based in Glenwood Springs, CO, offering a 20-week assignment beginning May 5th. The position requires skilled professionals to support a facility transitioning its EMR system from Meditech to Epic, with a focus on safe and cost-effective medication management.

Schedule & Hours:

  • Rotating day/evening shifts, 40 hours per week
  • Start times of 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday
  • Rotating weekends working 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dispense medication orders per physician requests with precision
  • Maintain medication stock in patient care areas ensuring availability and safety
  • Interpret medication orders and maintain computerized medication profiles accurately
  • Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including controlled substance management
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, and appropriateness
  • Perform pharmacokinetic dosing as per hospital protocols
  • Provide clinical consultation and drug information to practitioners, patients, and families
  • Participate in quality improvement and medication review activities
  • Serve as a member of the Code Response Team, responding to emergencies as needed

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active pharmacist license in Colorado, in good standing
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Degree in Pharmacy
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Must have flu vaccination (Oct 1 through Apr 1, no exemptions)
  • Experience with Epic is mandatory; Meditech training is a plus due to ongoing system conversion
