A healthcare facility in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking two pharmacists to join their team on a nine-week contract with the possibility to convert to a permanent role upon successful performance. This position offers an opportunity to take on PV1 and PV2 responsibilities, providing comprehensive pharmacy services within a Long Term Care setting.

Shift schedules include Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM and/or 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM with rotating weekends, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications while monitoring patient compliance and usage patterns.
  • Ensure medication supplies comply with legal regulations.
  • Evaluate prescriptions to confirm suitability and provide patient consultations, including medication guidance, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Offer patient services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following strict protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, maintaining optimal pharmacy operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals including physicians and nurses to identify and resolve drug-related issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Texas pharmacy license required and must be in-hand.
  • Experience in retail pharmacy is acceptable; training will be provided as needed.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
