An immediate travel opportunity is available for a pharmacist to support a long-term acute care hospital in Gem IN. This is a smaller, highly collaborative setting where your clinical and operational skills will be essential in maintaining safe and efficient pharmacy services.
With a low census and a focused care model, this role offers a more controlled pace while still providing meaningful patient impact. You’ll be working closely with a lean pharmacy team, making this an excellent opportunity for pharmacists who value autonomy and hands-on involvement in daily operations. Open to Non-Local candidates who need travel stipends.
Responsibilities
- Verify medication orders and ensure accuracy in dispensing
- Perform IV compounding (non-chemotherapy) in accordance with safety standards
- Oversee and support pharmacy technician workflow
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff on medication therapies
- Manage automated dispensing systems and medication distribution
- Participate in on-call and weekend coverage (shared schedule)
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and facility policies
Work Hours
- Monday through Friday
- 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional need to stay later)
- On-call and weekend coverage required (shared with Pharmacy Manager)
Experience
- Prior inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience required
- IV compounding experience required
- Experience in a long-term acute care or similar setting preferred
- Familiarity with Omnicell and HCS ePharmacy systems preferred
Education
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
Other Qualifications
- Active and valid Indiana Pharmacist License
- Ability to work independently in a small team environment
- Strong attention to detail and clinical judgment
- Full-time availability for the duration of the assignment
