This position offers an opportunity to work as a per diem Staff Pharmacist at a behavioral health facility in the Winston-Salem, NC area. Ideal candidates will have inpatient hospital experience along with familiarity with Omnicell or Pyxis automated dispensing systems. This role requires a North Carolina pharmacist license and values professionals experienced in behavioral health pharmacy practice.

Winston-Salem, NC 27104

Schedule:

  • Training: May 5-8 and May 11-15, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Coverage Dates: May 16-17 and May 30-31, 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Future shifts in June and beyond to be determined
  • Regular coverage hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM on weekdays; 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM on weekends

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Valid North Carolina pharmacist license
  • Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
  • Experience with Omnicell preferred; Pyxis experience accepted
  • Behavioral health pharmacy knowledge is a plus
  • Familiarity with HCS order entry system helpful; full training provided

Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders and collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers
  • Product verification and management of automated dispensing system (Omnicell)
  • Support antimicrobial stewardship initiatives
  • Work closely with the Director of Pharmacy and pharmacy team to meet patients’ needs
  • Assist pharmacy technicians with filling, repackaging, and distribution tasks

Additional Information:

  • Five days of mandatory training prior to coverage
  • Dress code: Black or sage green scrubs, or business casual attire
  • Facility pharmacy team includes 1 Director of Pharmacy, part-time pharmacists, per diem pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians
