Provide pharmaceutical care as a Staff Pharmacist in an inpatient behavioral health setting, supporting patient treatment and collaborating closely with clinical teams. This per diem opportunity at a facility in Winston-Salem, NC offers flexible scheduling with specific training and coverage dates starting in May.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders accurately, ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy
  • Utilize Omnicell or Pyxis systems for medication management and distribution
  • Participate in antimicrobial stewardship programs and other quality initiatives
  • Support pharmacy operations alongside the Director of Pharmacy and team
  • Assist with medication filling, repackaging, and distribution through pharmacy technician support

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid North Carolina pharmacist license is required
  • Experience in an inpatient hospital setting preferred
  • Familiarity with Omnicell or Pyxis automated medication systems; training provided for HCS order entry system
  • Behavioral health experience is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Schedule and Training:

  • Training begins early May with 5 scheduled full days (7:30 am – 4:30 pm)
  • Coverage shifts include weekdays 7:30 am – 4:30 pm and weekends 7:30 am – 2:30 pm
  • Specific coverage dates in May and June with future dates to be determined

Work Environment:

  • Small pharmacy team including Director of Pharmacy, part-time and per diem pharmacists, plus technicians
  • Dress code: black or sage green scrubs or business casual attire
