A long-term care pharmacy role is available for a licensed pharmacist in North Carolina on a contract basis with potential to convert to full-time employment. This position involves pharmacy clinical services supporting medication management and patient care in a healthcare setting.

Location: Greenville, NC
Type: Contract (13 weeks) with contract-to-hire potential
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Rotating Saturdays

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accepting and dispensing prescription medications accurately and in compliance with legal standards
  • Monitoring patient medication use for compliance and overuse patterns
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential patient and pharmacy records
  • Providing patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, dosage, and interactions
  • Offering additional patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure, and cholesterol management
  • Educating patients on proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
  • Compounding medications and preparing sterile solutions following established protocols
  • Supervising pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
  • Managing inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
  • Identifying drug-related problems and collaborating with healthcare providers including physicians and nurses to optimize patient care

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid North Carolina pharmacist license (required)
  • Pharmacy experience, retail pharmacists are encouraged to apply and training will be provided
  • Ability to perform PV1 and PV2 duties effectively
  • Strong communication skills for patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare team
