A Staff Pharmacist position is available on the 2nd shift (12:30pm - 9pm, Monday through Friday, with possible Saturdays) for a contract assignment of at least 13 weeks, with potential for temp-to-direct hire. This role is based in Greenwood, IN, within a closed-door mail order pharmacy environment.

This position requires a pharmacist who can provide outstanding pharmaceutical care while ensuring full compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines. The role includes supervisory responsibilities overseeing pharmacy technicians during the 2nd shift, so strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense medications in accordance with prescription orders.
  • Provide medication counseling and education on proper usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Review and interpret physician orders to confirm therapy appropriateness.
  • Monitor drug regimens for contraindications, interactions, and duplications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance patient outcomes and support medication adherence.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate patient records, including medication histories and allergy information.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws.
  • Manage medication storage and monitor for expired or damaged products.
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist with inventory management such as ordering and stocking pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and promoting pharmacy services.
  • Stay updated on advances in pharmacy practice and engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • PharmD degree required.
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of retail pharmacy experience.
  • Active Indiana Pharmacy License.
  • California Pharmacy License preferred, or willingness to obtain through reciprocity (support provided).
  • Ability to travel up to 5%.
