Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert pharmaceutical services, advising on drug therapy, dosages, and side effects to physicians and healthcare staff.
• Prepare and dispense medications accurately, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
• Manage medication inventory, maintaining proper storage and security.
• Collaborate closely with medical and nursing teams, offering timely drug information and therapeutic guidance.
• Conduct medication use reviews to assess patient compliance and recommend adjustments to optimize outcomes.
• Educate patients on proper medication use and participate in patient care rounds as appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality in line with HIPAA and other applicable regulations.
• Develop and update guidelines for drug use and prepare related policies and communications.
• Mentor pharmacy, medical, and nursing students, fostering professional growth.
• Provide monthly consultancy to contracted long-term care facilities.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred.
• Current state pharmacy license and successful completion of licensure exam per NABP requirements.
• Minimum of three years retail pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Working Environment:

• Indoor, smoke-free, climate-controlled pharmacy setting.
• Potential exposure to biohazards and hazardous drugs, with compliance to safety protocols including annual respirator fitting.
• Interaction with healthcare professionals, patients, and families regularly.
