This per diem opportunity for a Staff Pharmacist involves providing critical inpatient pharmacy services at a behavioral health facility. The role offers flexible coverage hours with initial training provided, ideal for a licensed pharmacist seeking to contribute within a specialized hospital setting.

Location: Winston-Salem, NC

Schedule:

  • Training: 5 days total between May 5-8 and May 11-15, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Coverage: May 16-17 and May 30-31, 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Ongoing hours (June and beyond): 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM weekdays; 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM weekends

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current North Carolina pharmacist license required
  • Inpatient hospital experience is essential
  • Familiarity with Omnicell preferred; Pyxis experience acceptable
  • Knowledge of behavioral health pharmacy practice highly desirable
  • No experience required with HCS order entry system; training provided

Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders and collaborate with nursing and providers to ensure safe, effective patient care
  • Manage product verification and effective use of Omnicell automation systems
  • Participate in antimicrobial stewardship programs
  • Work closely with the Director of Pharmacy and pharmacy team to meet patient needs
  • Utilize pharmacy technicians for filling, repackaging, and distribution support
