This retail pharmacist position offers the opportunity to contribute to a community-focused pharmacy within a well-established retail environment in Elmira, NY. The role involves medication dispensing, patient immunizations, and pharmacy inventory management to ensure high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the pharmacy manager to manage inventory, track weekly sales, and order pharmaceutical stock to meet customer needs and support profitability.
  • Accurately weigh, measure, and mix medications and compounds, filling prescriptions with the correct quantities and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide guidance to patients on self-medication and dispense non-prescription medications as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with healthcare providers and insurance representatives for patient service coordination.
  • Administer patient immunizations regularly, supporting public health initiatives.
  • In the absence of the pharmacy manager, manage scheduling, performance recognition, discipline, and task assignments for pharmacy staff to optimize team effectiveness and meet business objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Active New York State Pharmacist License.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage pharmacy inventory, dispense medications accurately, and provide patient counseling.
  • Experience with immunization administration is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with healthcare professionals.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Sunday, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Bi-weekly hours totaling 36
