A dedicated pharmacist is needed to provide overnight coverage at a specialized women’s healthcare site in Houston, TX. This contract role involves managing inpatient medication therapy within a hospital setting, ensuring safe and effective pharmaceutical care for patients ranging from newborn to adult. The assignment spans approximately 14 weeks, starting mid-May, offering a consistent overnight schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM.

Responsibilities:
- Promote safe pharmaceutical care by managing and resolving medication-related issues.
- Verify medication doses considering patient diagnosis, weight, allergies, and potential drug interactions.
- Accurately enter medication orders electronically, ensuring zero medication incidents.
- Validate that dispensed medications are correct and comply with established safety standards.
- Process medication orders and deliver doses on time in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Follow strict aseptic technique and infection control practices in sterile product preparation.
- Ensure compliance through annual re-certification in aseptic technique and infection control.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years of inpatient pharmacy experience; pediatric inpatient background preferred but not required.
- Valid Texas Pharmacist License.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ACPE IV Certification.
- Proven ability to work overnight shifts and manage clinical pharmacy responsibilities effectively.
This is a contract position requiring a commitment to high-quality patient care in an inpatient hospital setting supporting women's health. The role follows a 7 on/7 off schedule to maintain work-life balance during the contract period.
