A pharmacy opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist on the 2nd shift (12:30 PM – 9:00 PM) in a closed-door mail order environment. This contract position spans 13 weeks with potential for temp-to-direct hire and involves supervising pharmacy technicians during the shift. The role requires weekday availability (Monday through Friday) with possible Saturdays based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense medications in line with prescription orders.
- Provide thorough medication counseling, educating patients on proper use, side effects, and interactions.
- Review and interpret physician orders to verify appropriateness of therapy.
- Monitor drug regimens for contraindications, interactions, and duplications.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance patient outcomes and adherence.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records, including medication histories and allergies.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Manage proper storage and handling of medications, monitoring expiration and quality.
- Participate in pharmacy quality assurance and continuous improvement programs.
- Assist with inventory oversight, including ordering and stocking pharmaceutical supplies.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and promoting pharmacy services.
- Stay updated on pharmacy practices through ongoing professional development.
Desired Qualifications:
- PharmD degree required.
- Indiana Pharmacy License mandatory.
- 1 to 3 years of retail pharmacy experience.
- California Pharmacy License preferred or willingness to reciprocate (assistance with costs provided).
- Supervisory experience with pharmacy technicians is highly valued.
- Flexibility for up to 5% travel.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
- Possible Saturdays as needed.
