This opportunity is for an experienced Staff Pharmacist to contribute to a closed-door mail order pharmacy environment during the 2nd shift in Indianapolis, IN. This contract role offers the potential to transition to direct hire after an initial 13-week period, providing a chance to grow within a dynamic pharmacy setting.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 12:30pm – 9:00pm
  • Possible Saturdays as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense medications according to prescription orders while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws.
  • Provide thorough medication counseling and education to patients on proper use, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Review and interpret physician orders to confirm accuracy and appropriateness of therapy.
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, and duplications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance patient outcomes and promote medication adherence.
  • Maintain detailed patient records including medication histories, allergies, and interventions.
  • Assist with inventory management such as ordering and stocking pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Support pharmacy quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians on the 2nd shift, ensuring smooth workflow and team coordination.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in pharmacy practice through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

  • PharmD degree required.
  • Indiana Pharmacy License mandatory.
  • California Pharmacy License preferred, or willingness to reciprocate with client assistance for licensing costs.
  • 1 to 3 years of retail pharmacy experience.
  • Strong communication and supervisory skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5%.
