Staff Pharmacist - Indianapolis, IN

A pharmacy professional is needed for a 2nd shift staff pharmacist role supporting a closed-door mail order environment. This position involves providing expert pharmaceutical care while supervising technicians during the afternoon and evening hours. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 12:30pm to 9pm, with occasional Saturdays as needed. The opportunity begins as a 13-week contract with the potential to transition into a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately dispense medications according to prescription orders
• Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and interactions
• Review physician orders to ensure safe and effective drug therapy
• Monitor therapies for contraindications and therapeutic duplications
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize outcomes
• Maintain precise patient records including medication histories and allergies
• Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
• Ensure proper medication storage and handle inventory management
• Support pharmacy quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications:

• PharmD degree required
• Indiana pharmacy license required; California license preferred, or willingness to reciprocate (client assists with costs)
• 1 to 3 years retail pharmacy experience
• Demonstrated supervisory skills for leading technicians
• Strong communication and attention to detail
• Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
