A healthcare facility in Apex, NC is seeking a skilled Staff Pharmacist with IV Certification for a 17-week contract with potential to convert to permanent employment. This role offers a flexible weekday schedule along with weekend on-call responsibilities, providing an excellent opportunity for those ready to step in quickly.

Job Type: Contract, 17 weeks with contract to hire potential
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Weekend on-call rotation
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately
- Monitor patient medication adherence and detect over-usage
- Ensure medications are compliant with legal and safety standards
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files meticulously
- Provide detailed medication consultations including dosage, side effects, interactions, and storage
- Prepare sterile solutions and compound medications according to established protocols
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
- Identify drug-related patient issues and collaborate with healthcare providers
- Oversee sterile compounding areas, ensuring cleaning, garbing, and testing protocols are followed
- Ensure staff competency with sterile compounding procedures and USP 797/800 compliance
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists to maintain regulatory compliance
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current North Carolina Pharmacist License (must be in-hand)
- Proven experience in IV/Infusion pharmacy highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and USP standards
- Ability to supervise and train pharmacy staff effectively
- Excellent communication skills for patient consultation and interprofessional collaboration
