Staff Pharmacist IV Certified in Apex, NC

An opportunity is available for an IV-certified Staff Pharmacist to support infusion services in Apex, NC. This is a 17-week contract with potential for contract-to-hire, offering flexible weekday schedules and the chance to contribute within a collaborative healthcare environment.

Location: Apex, North Carolina
Contract Length: 17 weeks (Contract-to-Hire)
Schedule: Flexible Monday through Friday shifts – options include 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, plus weekend on-call rotation

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept, dispense, and compound prescription medications, including sterile solutions, adhering to established protocols and USP 797/800 standards.
• Monitor patient medication compliance, detect overuse, and maintain confidential patient records with attention to regulatory compliance.
• Counsel patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions to ensure safe and effective therapy.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks, ensuring proper training, competency in sterile compounding, and adherence to safety regulations.
• Maintain pharmaceutical inventory and collaborate closely with healthcare team members to address drug-related issues.
• Oversee cleanliness and safety of sterile compounding areas, ensuring compliance with all sterility and safety guidelines.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid North Carolina pharmacist license in-hand is mandatory.
• Previous experience in IV/infusion pharmacy practice is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of sterile compounding practices and USP standards.
• Excellent communication and supervisory skills.
