Staff Pharmacist IV Certified in Apex, NC

A healthcare facility in Apex, NC is seeking a skilled Staff Pharmacist with IV Certification for a 17-week contract with potential to convert to permanent employment. This role offers a flexible weekday schedule along with weekend on-call responsibilities, providing an excellent opportunity for those ready to step in quickly.

Location: Apex, NC
Job Type: Contract, 17 weeks with contract to hire potential
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Weekend on-call rotation

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately
• Monitor patient medication adherence and detect over-usage
• Ensure medications are compliant with legal and safety standards
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files meticulously
• Provide detailed medication consultations including dosage, side effects, interactions, and storage
• Prepare sterile solutions and compound medications according to established protocols
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
• Identify drug-related patient issues and collaborate with healthcare providers
• Oversee sterile compounding areas, ensuring cleaning, garbing, and testing protocols are followed
• Ensure staff competency with sterile compounding procedures and USP 797/800 compliance
• Collaborate closely with pharmacists to maintain regulatory compliance

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current North Carolina Pharmacist License (must be in-hand)
• Proven experience in IV/Infusion pharmacy highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and USP standards
• Ability to supervise and train pharmacy staff effectively
• Excellent communication skills for patient consultation and interprofessional collaboration
