We are seeking a Compounding Pharmacist for a full-time opportunity in Bakersfield, California. This position offers a stable weekday schedule and is expected to continue through July 2026, with the potential to transition into a permanent role.
We are open to considering pharmacists with strong retail experience. Candidates without compounding experience may be considered for a dispensing-focused role while supporting pharmacy operations.
Position Details
Full-time contract assignment through July 2026
Potential for permanent placement
Monday through Friday
Schedule: 8:15 AM – 5:15 PM

Responsibilities
Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding operations
Perform final verification of prescriptions for accuracy and safety
Fill, label, and prepackage medications
Communicate with healthcare providers regarding orders, clarifications, and refill requests
Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and treatment plans
Maintain compliance with USP 795, USP 797, USP 800, and California Board of Pharmacy regulations
Ensure quality assurance standards are met throughout the dispensing and compounding process
Support pharmacy workflow and operational efficiency
Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
PharmD or BS in Pharmacy
Active California Pharmacist License
Minimum of 3 years of pharmacist experience
Retail pharmacy experience
Strong communication and patient counseling skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and compliance requirements
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
3–5 years of pharmacy experience
Sterile and non-sterile compounding experience
Familiarity with USP 795, USP 797, and USP 800 standards
Experience working in a compounding pharmacy environment
