A pharmacy seeks two experienced pharmacists for a 13-week contract with potential for contract-to-hire, offering the opportunity to contribute to patient care in a dynamic home infusion setting. This role requires IV certification and an active New York State pharmacy license.

- Bronx, NY
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify any over-usage patterns.
- Ensure medication supply complies with legal requirements.
- Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate for patients.
- Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer questions.
- Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter drugs, including storage and interactions.
- Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications for external or internal use, including preparation of sterile solutions.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to identify and resolve drug-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
- Active New York State pharmacy license.
- Prior IV infusion experience required.
- Strong communication and supervisory skills.
