Home Staff Pharmacist | Bronx, New York

A pharmacy seeks two experienced pharmacists for a 13-week contract with potential for contract-to-hire, offering the opportunity to contribute to patient care in a dynamic home infusion setting. This role requires IV certification and an active New York State pharmacy license.

Location:

• Bronx, NY

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify any over-usage patterns.
• Ensure medication supply complies with legal requirements.
• Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate for patients.
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files.
• Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer questions.
• Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter drugs, including storage and interactions.
• Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for external or internal use, including preparation of sterile solutions.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to identify and resolve drug-related issues.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• Active New York State pharmacy license.
• Prior IV infusion experience required.
• Strong communication and supervisory skills.
