A healthcare facility in the Bronx, NY, is seeking two experienced pharmacists for a 13-week contract with potential to convert to permanent positions based on performance. This role requires a pharmacist licensed in New York with IV certification and prior home infusion pharmacy experience. The shifts are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with immediate start.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications while monitoring patient compliance and over-usage.
- Ensure that medication supplies comply with all legal requirements.
- Maintain confidential and up-to-date patient records and pharmacy documentation.
- Provide consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, side effects, storage, and drug interactions.
- Educate patients regarding proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation and cholesterol management.
- Compound medications for internal and external use and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to address drug-related problems effectively.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
- Active New York State pharmacy license.
- IV pharmacy certification and prior IV pharmacy experience.
- Experience in home infusion pharmacy preferred.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
