Home Infusion Staff Pharmacist IV Certified in Bronx, NY

An opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist with IV certification to support home infusion services. This contract role offers a chance to work Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., over a 13-week period with potential for contract-to-hire based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately receive and dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of over-use.
• Maintain confidential patient records and effectively manage pharmacy documentation.
• Provide detailed counseling to patients regarding medication use, side effects, and proper storage.
• Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on medical device usage, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound and prepare sterile solutions in accordance with established protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve drug-related issues and optimize patient care.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
• Current New York State pharmacy license in-hand.
• Prior experience in IV pharmacy settings, particularly home infusion.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

This contract role requires an individual ready to start immediately. Candidates should be prepared for a potentially slow onboarding process due to multiple vendor contracts but encouraged to apply if local and available.
