A well-established pharmacy provider in New York is seeking two experienced pharmacists for a 13-week contract with potential for contract to hire. This role involves delivering high-quality medication management and patient care in a home infusion setting.
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards
- Monitor patient medication usage, ensuring proper adherence and identifying potential overuse
- Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy files meticulously
- Advise patients on medication administration, potential side effects, and answer questions
- Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription drugs, including dosage and drug interactions
- Educate patients on proper use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions in accordance with established procedures
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks
- Maintain adequate pharmaceutical and medical inventory
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to address drug-related problems
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
- Active New York pharmacy license in-hand
- Prior experience with IV preparation and infusion required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with patients and healthcare teams
