A healthcare organization in the Cary, NC area is seeking a highly skilled IV/Infusion Pharmacist for a 17-week contract with potential to transition to full-time. This role focuses on the preparation and supervision of sterile compounded medications, ensuring compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards, and providing expert pharmaceutical care to infusion patients.

Schedule:
- Flexible Monday through Friday shifts: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Weekend on-call rotation required
Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications, monitoring patient compliance and over-usage
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation with precision
- Provide thorough medication counseling, including dosage, side effects, and interactions
- Compound sterile medications and prepare infusion solutions following strict safety protocols
- Supervise and ensure competency of pharmacy staff in sterile compounding processes, including cleaning, garbing, training, and testing
- Maintain pharmaceutical inventory and ensure all processes adhere to regulatory standards
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify and resolve drug-related issues for patients
- Oversee sterile compounding area cleanliness and safety in compliance with USP guidelines
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Active North Carolina pharmacist license is required
- IV/Infusion pharmacy experience strongly preferred
- Experience with sterile compounding and USP 797/800 standards
- Strong leadership abilities to supervise pharmacy staff
