This opportunity is for an experienced IV certified pharmacist to support infusion services in Cary, NC. The role involves dispensing prescription medications and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, patient safety, and accurate record-keeping. The pharmacist will prepare sterile solutions, supervise pharmacy staff, monitor patient medication compliance, and collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve drug-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications with accuracy and attention to legal requirements
- Monitor patient compliance and detect patterns of medication overuse
- Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions
- Compound and prepare sterile IV medications adhering to protocols
- Oversee pharmacy technicians and clerical staff, ensuring competency in sterile compounding practices
- Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
- Ensure adherence to USP 797 and USP 800 standards within the sterile compounding area
- Participate in weekend on-call rotation as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid North Carolina pharmacist license required (in-hand)
- IV/Infusion pharmacy experience highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding procedures and regulatory compliance
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills with pharmacy staff
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams
Schedule:
- Flexible shifts Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Includes participation in weekend on-call rotation
