Staff Pharmacist - Houston, Texas

A home infusion pharmacy with multiple locations nationwide is seeking a qualified Staff Pharmacist skilled in IV certification to join their Houston, TX site. This contract-to-hire role offers the opportunity to work Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., supporting patients with complex and specialty infusion therapies.

Responsibilities include providing clinical support around the clock, managing specialty medication dispensing and compounding, and coordinating care with healthcare professionals and insurers. The pharmacist will also educate patients on medication administration and adherence, particularly emphasizing home infusion techniques, while ensuring compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations to maintain a safe practice environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized clinical support for infusion and specialty therapies.
• Compound and dispense complex medications under sterile conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and insurance providers to streamline medication delivery.
• Educate patients on medication use, side effects, and self-administration.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Texas pharmacist license.
• ACPE Sterile Compounding certification is required.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in infusion pharmacy practice.
• Experience with CareTend pharmacy system preferred.
• Strong communication skills for patient and provider collaboration.
