Staff Pharmacist | Houston, Texas

A home infusion pharmacy is seeking an experienced Staff Pharmacist to join their Houston, TX location. This contract-to-hire role offers the opportunity to work on-site Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., starting ASAP with an initial 13-week contract.

This position focuses on managing complex specialty and infusion therapies while playing a vital role in patient care coordination. The pharmacist will review, compound, and dispense specialized medications, monitor for adverse reactions, collaborate closely with healthcare providers, and educate patients on proper medication use and adherence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized clinical support for patients 24/7, including managing specialty therapies and offering drug information to patients and healthcare providers.
• Compound and dispense or supervise preparation of complex medications, particularly in infusion settings.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and insurers to ensure smooth medication delivery and administration.
• Educate patients on medication use, potential side effects, and self-administration techniques related to home infusion therapies.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, ensuring accurate patient records and a safe practice environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Texas pharmacist license.
• ACPE Sterile Compounding certification is required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of infusion pharmacy experience.
• Familiarity with CareTend pharmacy system highly preferred.
