Home Infusion Staff Pharmacist IV Certified in New Hyde Park, NY

A healthcare facility in New Hyde Park, NY is seeking two knowledgeable pharmacists for a 13-week contract, with the possibility of contract-to-hire based on performance. This position requires a licensed pharmacist with IV certification and prior home infusion experience. The role involves ensuring safe and lawful dispensing of medications, patient education, and oversight of pharmacy operations.

Location:

• New Hyde Park, NY

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage.
• Ensure medication supply complies with legal requirements.
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
• Advise patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions.
• Provide patient services such as smoking cessation and blood pressure management.
• Educate patients on handling medical devices like glucose meters.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
• Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners to resolve drug-related issues.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
• NY pharmacist license in-hand.
• IV certification and prior home infusion experience required.
• Strong communication and supervisory skills.
