Home Infusion Staff Pharmacist | New Hyde Park, New York

A healthcare facility in New Hyde Park, NY is seeking two experienced Pharmacists for a 13-week contract, with the potential for contract to hire based on performance. This opportunity requires candidates to be fully licensed pharmacists with IV certification and prior experience in home infusion.

Location: New Hyde Park, NY
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks) with possible contract to hire
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately
• Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage
• Ensure medication supply complies with legal standards
• Advise patients on medication use, side effects, and drug interactions
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files accurately
• Consult patients about both prescription and over-the-counter medications
• Educate patients on handling medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compound medications for external or internal application following sterile preparation protocols
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
• Maintain appropriate pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory
• Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, and interns

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
• Valid New York State pharmacy license (in-hand)
• IV certification and prior home infusion pharmacy experience
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ability to supervise staff and manage pharmacy operations efficiently
