Home Infusion Staff Pharmacist IV Certified - New York, NY

A healthcare organization in New Hyde Park, NY is seeking two qualified pharmacists for a 13-week contract position with potential to transition to a permanent role based on performance. This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists with IV certification and home infusion experience, licensed to practice in New York State.

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications to patients
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of overuse
• Ensure medicine supply and prescriptions comply with legal regulations
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient and pharmacy records
• Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions
• Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Prepare sterile compounded medications following strict procedures
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
• Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
• NY State pharmacy license in-hand
• Prior IV certification and home infusion experience mandatory
• Strong communication skills for patient consultation and interdisciplinary collaboration
