A reputable infusion pharmacy in the New York, NY area requires two skilled pharmacists for a 13-week contract opportunity with the possibility of contract-to-hire based on performance. This role offers the chance to work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, supporting patients with critical home infusion therapies and comprehensive medication management.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications, including compounding sterile solutions in compliance with protocols.
- Monitor patient medication adherence and identify potential drug-related problems.
- Ensure legal compliance in medication supply and appropriateness of prescribed therapies.
- Maintain confidential and precise patient records.
- Provide patient consultations on medication use, side effects, storage, and interactions.
- Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Deliver additional patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol management.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, to maintain high-quality pharmacy operations.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
- Active New York State pharmacist license.
- Prior experience in intravenous (IV) medication preparation and dispensing.
- Strong knowledge of home infusion pharmacy practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
